our story •

Four friends enjoying a day by a river in a lush, green forest. Two are sitting on a large rock by the riverbank, smiling and enjoying a Zeden Cider, while two others are standing on rocks nearby, with one carrying a cooler.

In the footsteps of many Kiwis before him, the founder of Zeden Cider, Bevan Wait embarked on an OE in his twenties. Among many highlights was a trip to the English countryside in the county of Herefordshire. Here, cider is a way of life. Over many afternoons visiting quaint country cideries, a love of quality cider was born.

Upon returning to the land of the long white cloud, Bevan was struck by how incredibly lucky we are here in New Zealand - the beauty of our wild places and the uniqueness of our native creatures is second to none. He also realised just how fragile our little corner of the world is. He decided to do his bit to preserve our ecosystems and their distinctive biodiversity.

New Zealand needed good cider, and New Zealand’s native species needed a helping hand. What if the two could be combined?

And so Zeden Cider Co. was born

A man in a white T-shirt and beige shorts standing outdoors, smiling, with a vintage van that has "ZEDEN" written on the side behind him. The man is wearing a beige cap and has one hand on his hip, in a relaxed pose. The background includes sandy ground, some green trees, and an overcast sky.
